Back to Village (B2V) is a landmark and transformative programme of Government of Jammu & Kashmir conceived with an objective of bringing people to the centre stage of governance, ensuring their participation in the developmental process and putting in place an effective grievance redressal mechanism right from the identification of work till its completion. The Back to Village Programme witnessed a paradigm shift in the developmental framework by introducing participatory planning using bottom-up approach which brought governance at the doorstep of common masses. The impact of the programme was felt in every nook & corner of the District as the programme was designed to cover every single Panchayat of the District. It involved all the stake holders of the Panchayat in assessing the needs/ demands of general public and bridging the deficit in development of the Panchayat by taking first-hand account of the problems being faced by the people in rural areas and taking steps for their time bound redressel.
